This is a great dark chocolate frosting for any of your cakes. Simple to make too !
On a double boiler, melt your butter, once has almost melted fully, add in your milk and whisk it together
Now sift in your cocoa powder right on top of your butter / milk mixture, and whisk it again.
Let this heat on the double boiler for about 5 minutes. You should notice that the mixture is now very well combined and also thicker. At this point remove your bowl from the heat ( double boiler )
Now add in your vanilla and whisk it in.
At this point switch over to an electric mixer and slowly sift in your powdered sugar. Once you have added all your powdered sugar, mix with your electric mixer until fluffy.
This is a very forgiving recipe - you may add less powdered sugar to make a thinner chocolate frosting - OR - add more powdered sugar to make the frosting much thicker. The choice is yours. This recipe makes a medium consistency frosting good for the inside of a cake or frosting a cake.

This is my super easy roasted, salted crunchy chickpeas recipe.
They are low fat too ! ( no oil added )
– A can of chickpeas ( garbanzo beans )
– salt
Bake for 30 minutes at 425 degrees F / 220 degrees C
Note: You may see some recipes add oil to the chickpeas before
going into the oven – I have found this just delays the chickpeas getting crunchy, so it will take longer to bake.
We want our chickpea snack to be crunchy, not oily. This also make them much lower in fat !

This is my super simple yeast pizza dough. My pizza dough is authentic and one I’ve used for over 25 years.

If you’ve always wanted to make authentic pizza dough at home, this recipe is for you ! I’ve worked in many pizza places in my lifetime, and contrary to common belief, there is nothing secret or special about pizza dough, it’s a simple recipe, and easy to make at home !

In large bowl, beat shortening and butter with electric mixer until light and fluffy. Beat in vanilla.
Gradually add sugar, one cup at a time, beating well on medium speed. Scrape sides and bottom of bowl often. When all sugar has been mixed in, icing will appear dry.
Gradually add milk; beat at medium speed until light and fluffy.
For thin (spreading) consistency icing, add 2 tablespoons light corn syrup, water or milk.
For Pure White Icing (stiff consistency), omit butter; substitute an additional 1/2 cup shortening for butter and add 1/2 teaspoon No-Color Butter Flavor. Add up to 4 tablespoons light corn syrup, water or milk to thin for icing cakes.
Hints
Keep bowl covered with a damp cloth until ready to use.
If using a hand mixer, beat shortening, butter, if used, and liquid first, then add sugar, as above. It may be necessary to add additional sugar for the correct consistency.
